Reflection on AS

My AS Final Products could have been improved to make them more professional and better appeal to my primary and secondary target audience. When doing into AS I had no expense in using adobe photoshop or any other kind of editing tool and had to learn everything from scratch. I watched a lot of youtube tutorial videos to learn how to use the programme and this helped me a lot. I had also created a magazine front cover as part of the preliminary task which helped me when coming to make my final product as I had some sort of idea as to what I was doing. My time management was not the best last year which meant that i did not have enough time to complete my products to the most professional standard. With that in mind I went into A2 with different methods for time management and organised my time with a calendar as well as the time management aims and reflections I completed last year. My research in AS was not as specific and direct as it could of been so going into A2 I made sure that I researched specific parts that I needed rather than just the whole thing, for example lighting techniques in music videos rather than just in media.

Completing the work in AS gave me a strong starting point for A2. although this year I made a music video rather than a magazine I still has to make a magazine advert and digipak, which I used adobe photoshop for. My previous experience in AS of using photoshop meant that I had an idea of what each of the tools did and how to use them. There were still new tools that I needed to use and I again watched tutorials on these on Youtube. This allowed me to make a more professional product. The skills that I learnt in AS were transferable to A2 when making a music video which made it a lot easier to start. The skills I have learnt also allowed me to create a theme that linked all of my products together, which was the war. In AS my products were not very well linked together, only by the colour scheme which was not the best way to link them. The theme allowed my products to be to a better standard.
