Time Management

29/6/17   Aim: To collect in the questionnaires and begin to analyse the results  Reflection: I have collected in all the questionnaires and have analysed the results. I found that there were some anomalies in the results, for example most of the people ho completed my questionnaire were under 18 but one was over 70. I found that more females than males filled out my questionnaire and most people said that they like a storyline in a music video.

These images are an analysis of the results that I received from my questionnaire. In each image I have explained what it is people answered and how this will impact my overall product. I have analysed the results so I know exactly what they mean for my product, this has helped me to come up with ideas and begin to make decisions on my final products. The layout also makes to easier for my to conclude my ideas as it is simply laid out in front of me. This has allowed me to find my target audience for each different product that I will make as well as an overall target audience.

27/6/17   Aim: To write and distribute a questionnaire finding out who my target audience will be, what type of music they like and what they look for in a music video.  Reflection: I have written a questionnaire which contains 10 questions. The questions include age, gender, what type of music they like and what they look for in a music video. I have distributed this and asked people to fill it out so that i ca begin to analyse the results.

This is my content questionnaire. I created this questionnaire so that I could get a better insight into what it is that is successful in a music video and what people want to see. It will also help me to identify my primary and secondary target audience and what it is they are specifically looking for in a music video, magazine advert and digipak. This will allow me to receive psychographics and demographics that will help me to best reach my decided primary and secondary target audience. 

Olly Murs Right Place Right Time Advert Deconstruction

Olly murs – right place right time album deconstruction from Kate Jenkins This is a magazine advert deconstruction for the advert for Olly Murs Right Place Right Time. I have looked into the placement of each of the components and also what is actually written on it. It features he name of the artist and the name of the album. This is the biggest thing on the page, part from a picture of the artist. Unlike the ColdPlay advert this does not feature a picture of the album. This will help me when I am creating my magazine advert as I have looked into how the placement of the complements make it stand out and appeal to their primary and secondary target audience.

This is a deconstruction of the magazine advert for ColdPlay X and Y. I have looked into the composition and layout of the magazine as well as the colour scheme, which fits with the colour scheme of the album cover. It creates a trend. This will help me to get ideas on how I will kay my magazine advert out and how they target their primary and secondary target audience.

26/7/17 Aim: To complete at least one deconstruction of an album advert  Reflection: I have completed all three deconstructions of an album advert. I have deconstrcueted the adverts for Cold Play - X & Y, Tom Odell - A long way down, and Olly Murs - Right place right time. I have deconstructed the colour, the compostiton of the advert and the style of the writing. This has alowed me to have abetter idea of what to put in my magazine advert. 

Ed Sheehan - Divide Album Deconstruction (Digi Pak)

I deconstructed the album/Digipak Divide by Ed Sheeran and look at how it creates reprenttion using layout, colour, imagery and content. I looked into how they targeted both their primary and secondary. I looked at the overall representation of the album/Digipak and deconstructed it looking at semiotics. This deconstruction has helped me to beignet decide on the target audience for my product. 

OneRepublic Native Album Deconstruction (Digi Pak)

I deconstructed the album/Digipak for OneRepublic Native. I particularly looked at the way in which the font and main image represented the name of the album. The animals that were featured are native t different countries and are animals that many people know where they have come from. This has helped me by giving me ideas on how best to represent my product with pictures so that the target audience will understand. 

Adele 25 Album Deconstruction (Digi Pak)

I deconstructed the album/Digipak for Adele 25 to see how it creates representation though the colour, font, imagery and words. I also looked at what the target audience for this particular artist/album was and how they specifically targeted them. By doing this deconstruction it has given me ideas on who I want the target audience for my product to be and how I will target them.

24/6/17 Aim: To begin to deconstruct albums, including the front cover, back cover and CD. These will be by a range of different people from a range of different genres. Reflection: I have uploaded my deconstructions for all of the albums. I have focused on the  albums 25 by Adele, Native by OneRepublic and Divide by Ed Sheeran. I have deconstruction the front cover, back cover and CD. These all linked together and created continuity across the album. The Adele album is black and white, the OneRepublic album is multi coloured and the Ed Sheeran album is blue and black.

As there are lots of people in this music video I looked at how they are each represented in relation to the composition of the music video. I also looked into costume and how this is used to differentiate the characters.

21/6/17 Aim: To finish the deconstruction of Roar by Katy Perry and to deconstruct the music video Something Big by Shawn Mendes  Reflection: I have finished the deconstructions of the music video for Roar by  Katy Perry and have analysed the codes and conventions. I have also deconstructed the music video for Something Big by Shawn Mendes and analysed the different elements, for example cinematography, mise en scene and lighting.

June Aim: This month I aim to complete the deconstructions of 3 music videos, 3 music magazine adverts and 3 digipaks. These will be in a range of different genres. 16/6/17  Aim: To start my deconstructions and try to finish at least one  Reflection: I have finished a deconstruction of the music video 'Everything has changed by Taylor Swift featuring Ed Sheeran' and have begun to deconstruct the music video 'Roar by Katy Perry'.

I looked at the composition of the music video and this has helped me to find ideas for my music video. I like the idea of the children taking the main part of the music video and then the adults coming in at the end, like a flash back effect. This might help me to decide on a target audience. It has also given me an idea of what music videos look like. 

June Time Plan

This is my time plan for what I will complete during the month of June. This includes deadlines and days that I will complete work. This will insure that I complete all of the work that I need to do in June. It will help me to be more productive as I have set goals for myself.
